William Stapleton is a payments industry entrepreneur and the President and CEO of Iron Rock Payments. Based in Frisco, Texas, his professional background combines financial services, payment processing, entrepreneurship, business development, and organizational leadership.

Stapleton grew up in Long Beach, California, in a working-class family. His mother is from Ecuador, while his father is of German and Polish heritage. He began working at age 14, an experience that helped establish the independence and work ethic that would later influence his approach to business.

He attended Long Beach Wilson Classical High School, participating in varsity baseball and water polo while maintaining a strong academic record. Stapleton continued his education at California State University, Long Beach, where he studied Rhetorical Theory and Global Economics and graduated with honors.

During college, Stapleton pursued professional experience during school breaks, including working as an unpaid intern in the financial industry. Following graduation, he began a career in financial services and spent several years developing experience in client relationships, financial operations, and business strategy.

Stapleton eventually left the traditional financial sector to pursue entrepreneurship in payment processing. He founded PayFacto, gaining firsthand experience in developing and growing a payments company before moving on to his next entrepreneurial venture.

Today, Stapleton leads Iron Rock Payments as President and CEO. His work centers on growing the company, serving merchants, developing payment solutions, and building a team capable of supporting the organization’s long-term objectives.

His leadership philosophy emphasizes continual learning and recognizing the limitations of any individual leader. Stapleton believes entrepreneurs must be willing to acknowledge when they are wrong, identify gaps in their own expertise, and hire people whose knowledge strengthens the business.

Outside of his professional work, Stapleton is an accomplished golfer and member of Stonebriar Country Club. He maintains a plus-2 handicap and has participated in competitive qualifying events.
